Northern Dance Network with the support of Creative New Zealand is very pleased to introduce a new initiative called Tūrama. Tūrama is a 12-day choreographic intensive created to nurture and develop the craft of emerging choreographers in Aotearoa. The purpose of this programme is to help establish more sustainable careers for emerging choreographers by giving them time, opportunity, support (including financial) and mentoring to develop their craft.
We are opening up an EOI for emerging choreographers and dancers who would like to take part in the emerging choreographers development. Choreographers must not be currently studying, and have since completed study in the past 5 years. Emerging choreographers who have not studied in Tertiary but have been choreographing for the past 5 years are also eligible to apply. Dancers must be willing to perform in 2 dance works. Preferably dancers who are not studying as this requires to be available for full time for 2 weeks.
This opportunity is open to choreographers and dancers in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland). Those from outside of Tāmaki Makurau may apply but must arrange and pay for their own transport and accommodation. More information on the application forms. More information on both links to applications below. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or ring Ufitia on 021 110 2460.
This year's Tūrama is proudly supported by Creative NZ.
