Fortunately, the rain held off for the Auckland opening of NZ dance week held on Saturday 21 April at 2.00pm on the dance-o-mat in Aotea Square.
NDN in collaboration with DANZ and Auckland Live presented a one hour showcase. Performers included:

The music and energy of the performers drew in a crowd of all ages with many children sitting around the edges of the stage enjoying the variety of dance styles on show.

Chance to Dance was a very successful event held on Saturday 28 April as part of NZ Dance Week. More than 300 people enjoyed one or more of the six free classes that were offered, all at beginner level and suitable for all ages. The classes included:

All classes meet the Community Group Strength & Balance Programme to reduce the falls in older people.
MONDAYS: 10 – 11 am at St Luke’s Church Hall, 704 New North Road, Mt Albert. THURSDAYS: 10 – 11 am at St Aidan’s Church Hall, 5 Ascot Ave, Remuera.
FRIDAY: 10 – 11 am at New Lynn Scout Hall, 37 Margan Ave, New Lynn.

The dates for YouDance 2018 have been announced. YouDance 2018 will take place on from the 27th - 30th of May. The first two nights are for rehearsals. The performances are on 29 & 30 May at the Raye Freedman Centre at Epsom Girls Grammar.
